With the second week of school under our belts, the Yorktown Tigers capped off the week with their first official football game of the season. Because the game was at home (and I'm a new teacher that gets suckered into everything) I was asked to work the football game. I didn't get to do anything fun like take tickets or work in the concession stand, but I was placed strictly on crowd control duty. My job was to keep the students on their respective side during the game, and also to keep the little kids under control. What amazes me is that how many students come to the football game, and never sit down or even watch a minute of the game! Don't get me wrong, there were hundreds of students, faculty, and staff that were showing off their amazing school spirit, it's just the younger ones that get a little restless. You've gotta love 'em though!
Thankfully Bonnie came to keep me company. I don't know many people at Yorktown yet, so it would have been pretty boring just standing by myself. She even brought Cayson (I'm pretty sure he is going to be a football stud himself). After the game I had another duty: chaperoning the dance...woof! I must say..the Art Club did play some good music! Working activities like Friday night really makes you think back about high school and all the memories that you had.
Now, I don't want you to think that I was out having all that fun while Adam was sitting at home being bored. Adam has found a new best friend, Dameon. They both work in the same building and Adam has even offered to help Dameon coach Jr. High football. It looks like Adam will be spending more time with Dameon than he does me! :(
Here are some pictures from Friday night:
The Tigers during pre-game. They played Pendleton Heights.
The National Anthem. Notice the black sky. It would rain later on in the evening. (And yes..that kid is on his cell phone with his back to the flag..kids these days)
Cayson enjoying the game... sorry that the image is sideways.
