WE'RE BACK!! :)

Well..we are finally back to blogging! The last month or so has been pretty hectic, and we just haven't had much time to post! We are finally out of school for summer break! We have been doing some random projects around the house. We've had a few cookouts...and now we're getting into "lake house season". Most of our weekends will be consumed with going up to the lakes, boating, and enjoying the sunshine!

We got a glimmer of hope the other day with Adam's job hunt! He had an interview, and we are waiting to get some word on how that went. (Needless to say, we're keeping our fingers crossed).

In the mean time, Adam has been mowing a couple yards around the neighborhood. He has especially spent a lot of time working on ours..and I thought it would be nice if I took a picture for all to appreciate! (Notice that he uses a push broom to make the defined lines!)
With 9 months of anticipation...finally Mary and C.J. will be having their baby! Tomorrow, Mary is being induced, and our nephew Markous will enter the world!
C.J. is so excited about being a Dad..and we know that he'll make a good one :)

Kilian Family Update

Well, we've seemed to have taken a long break from blogging (life is just really busy), but we're back! A lot has happened in the last three weeks....I won't bore you with all the details, but here are a few:

I finally got my cast off! It was a great relief to be able to wash (and shave) my leg! Unfortunately though, I was put in a walking boot for another 6 weeks! :(. Hopefully when I go back on May 26th I'll be released to workout! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Here is an awesome picture of my leg hair after they removed my cast. It was so hairy..the nurse even giggled!
Adam and I are both well into our respective sports seasons. I only have a few track meets remaining, but Adam is only halfway done with his baseball!
It looks like I'll be working at a different school next year. For the 2010-11 school year I will be teaching 2nd grade at Pleasant View Elementary. I am so excited! It'll be a complete 180 from what I've been doing this year.
Adam and I have a new hobby! We both were looking for a way to stay fit..and what better way than boxing?! Actually, I've taken the route of kickboxing while Adam has stayed with more traditional boxing. Right now I am limited with my workouts so I can only do upper body bag work. It is really fun! I cannot wait until June 1st when I will begin my kickboxing classes. If things go well, I might mix in some mma classes!
We have a busy summer ahead of us! Several of our friends are getting married. I am getting ready for new job. We have lots trips to the lake house planned...and 2 new babies in the family! ( Adam's stepbrother Nick is having a little girl and my brother is having a boy!). We will definitely keep you posted on what's to come!

What We've Been Up To...

Our first flowers outside of our house!
Enjoying the "summer-like" air

Adam using his new grill

We apologize for our lack of posting these last couple of weeks, but we've been super busy. Here's what we've been up to:

Adam and I have both been coaching spring sports. Adam is coaching baseball at Lapel. He is the j.v. coach and Varsity assistant. He really loves what he is doing! I, on the other hand, have been coaching Middle School track at YMS. It's amazing to me that we have over 100 kids out for track! I get the awesome job of coaching high jump and distance runners. It's a lot of fun...if the weather cooperates!
I've also been doing some tutoring everyday after track practice. It's a great chance to work with kids and to also make some extra money on the side.
Spring is here, so we've started our spring cleaning! We've also started on some heavy yard work and used our new grill for the first time!

Adam and I have made the decision to repaint our entire interior of our house. It seemed like a good idea when we first painted our walls a light shade of gray...but after looking at it for four months...bad idea! Please pray for our sanity while this is going on.

Ankle Surgery

After breaking my ankle in November and 7 weeks of wearing a walking cast, my ankle never healed! After waiting a month, I finally went back to the doctor and it was determined that I needed to surgery to fix the broken bone. March 2nd I went in to have what was thought to be a "simple procedure". Instead, it was much more complex than anticipated.

After having bone re broken, cut away, replaced with synthetic bone graft, and having it all put in place with a near 4 in. screw... this is what I looked like. I know..not a pretty sight!
I spent most of my 4 days off from school in this same spot!

This was my incision 2 days after surgery. It looks like a worm!

Nurse Adam was always there to take care of me! He would wake up every hour and change my ice packs! Not to mention..bring me all my meals :)

A week later, I went to the doctor to have my staples removed. It wasn't painful at all! Unfortunately, the Dr. Rolsten decided that he didn't want me to to put any weight on my ankle for at least the next 6 weeks!

On goes the cast....

I think I picked a pretty fancy color!
We had a lot of people help out when I was "under the weather". My Mom and Dad have been great! They've cooked us dinner and have even taken me grocery shopping when Adam was coaching! Bonnie has helped out tremendously! Thank you :)
A special thanks to everyone for the flowers and cards, too!

Thank you tour...

Last week, Colts fans were given the opportunity to visit Lucas Oil Stadium for a "Thank You Tour". This Thank You Tour was put on the fans to thank them for their support this season. Of course we were going to go...but unfortunately Adam couldn't make it. (He's coaching wrestling now) Luckily, Bonnie went with me! Here are some pictures from the event.
A view of the stadium.

That would look nice in our front yard!

Cayson wasn't too thrilled about waiting in line...it was pretty cold!

A view of the line. We got there 45 minutes early and probably 200 people were in line already.

Bob Lamey (voice of the Colts) and Jim Irsay discuss next year's team.

Clint Session....

Kelvin Hayden...
Marlin Jackson

This guy's story was all over tv during the Super Bowl. He has nearly 30 player autographs....TATTOOED on his body. The one on his forearm is Peyton Manning's.
We tried FOREVER to get a picture with Blue and Cayson....
I think Cayson was a little creeped out.

We promised him he could visit the Lucas Oil tractor..Isn't he cute?

Well..it's not the Super Bowl trophy, but it was still pretty cool getting to touch the AFC championship trophy!

Still Feeling Blue.....

After almost 5 full days of not being able to watch Sportscenter, I think I'm finally able to face the music. The fact that the 2009-10 NFL season ended...with a Colts Super Bowl loss. :(. Although it is upsetting, it does give us fans something to look forward to next year.
I did get up extra early on Super Bowl Sunday to fix Adam and I a special breakfast. What else says breakfast of champions other than "The Lombardi Trophy Pancake"?
Or...GO COLTS! pancakes?
Unfortunately..the outcome wasn't in our favor.

But...there's always next year. And you bet that we'll still be wearing our Blue! :)
